1. IN OPSTANDING

In Opstanding was originally a solo piece for Mezzo and piano commissioned by Zanne Stapelberg. This piece speaks of resurrection of the past and skeletons in one's closet and is a complex poem with twists and turns. The music then sets off along a complex path, using late romantic harmony.

2. PIANO INTERLUDE 1

The first piano interlude is an interlude I wrote to go with a dance cycle called  "In Opstanding". The interlude is base on the first notes of the piece "In opstanding". To find more our about "In Opstanding" read about it in the title with the same name.

3. PIANO INTERLUDE 2

The Second Piano interlude is based on the piece "Eensaamheid" and was written for the same dance cycle as Interlude I. This interlude was specifically for the main singer to perform at the piano as Eensaamheid was her favourite piece. The interlude is simple and easy to play and a huge simplification of the song.

4. PIANO INTERLUDE 3

The third interlude is a separate entitiy and was created to add an additional moment for the dancers to dance only to a piano. The piece is in 5/8 and lilts with repetition throughout. It is fairly tricky and requires a good understanding of minimilasim in a less tonal context.
